Agate is a variety of Chalcedony really appreciated for its many colours and its bands.
Antic Egyptian thought that this stone was sacred to Isis, goddess that recomposed the body of Osiris bringing it back to life. So carnelian as always been considered as the energy of blood, as the stone that gives courage and eliminate every fear, even that of death because contains an elevated percentage of iron. Zodiacal sign: Pisces.

Most agates occur as nodules in volcanic rocks or ancient lavas where they represent cavities originally produced by the disengagement of volatiles in the molten mass which were then filled, wholly or partially, by siliceous matter deposited in regular layers upon the walls.
