Marvelous chalcedony sphere from Brazil. You can see a very nice superior geode made of quartz crystals. In the inferior part you can see part of the original basaltic matrix and a small zone that has been filled. This is one of the 3 stones that we have been able to secure in this quality.

Morion or morion quartz is a dark-brown to black opaque variety of smoky quartz resulting from the natural or artificial irradiation of aluminium-containing milk quartz. Smoky quartz or Smokey quartz, also known as Cairngorm or Cairngorm stone is a brown variety of quartz caused through the natural (or artificial) irradiation of aluminium-containing rock crystal. The very dark brown to black opaque variety is known as morion. This crystal is in the mean time dark and full of light. Excellent for meditation and for self-equilibrium.
